Surgery on 30th April 2009 This is a letter of appreciation sent to your hospital for the very caring and efficient attention I received during my recent stay in the hospital for by-pass surgery from April 30 – May 9th 2009. I would like to commence from the time I went to the 3rd Floor and met with the staff at the ‘Heart Centre’ I must say thank to Damayanthi, Sis Ranjini and Sisira for their efficient service. They were very thorough in their description of what the by-pass was all about, and while listening to Sis Ranjini it sounded so simple, and this gave me the push to go in for the Angiogram on 23rd April. I would like to say that the nursing staff on Floor2, did an excellent job preparing me for the test. That evening, I had a isit from Dr.Lahie. He spoke to me about my condition, and I voiced some fears I had They way he handled my fears gave me confidence in him and when my Cardiologist Dr.Ruwan Ekanayake visited me the next day and confirmed that I needed surgery. I immediately mentioned that I would like t to be done by Dr.Lahie, as I knew I would be in ‘safe hands’. I now re-tract to 5B ward where I spine the pre-op night and where the staff were very efficient and caring when they prepared me for surgery. When I awoke I was in CICU with very caring and attentive nursing saff around me. My wife filled me in with all the details, how the doctors, sisters and nurses gave her all the information and re-assured her that I was doing well. My deep respect and sincere thanks to Dr.Lahie and the team who worked with him on my surgery. I would like to call them ‘God’s Angles’ here on earth, and I ask God to bless them abundantly. I must say I enjoyed my stay in CICU, getting to know the staff and the patients. My wife would like to thank all the staff on duty on May 1st for al care they gave. I would also like to thank each and everyone of the staff at CICU for their care, concern and super efficient nursing. My recovery in 5B was also so well taken care off. I thank all the doctors, sisters, nurses and trainee nurses and the staff who served the meals. They were all so very cheerful, charming and helpful while been caring and efficient. My wife joins me in saying thank you to each and every one of them.
